Just like in 2012/2013, our Boxing Day fixture is against Newcastle at home.... if we want to genuinely give Chelsea a run for their money, three points is a must!

Should win this since we are at home. Just hope LVG doesn't muck up with all his tactics, formations and substitutions again. Stop playing fletch. Put Herrera or continue playing with his fav Fellaini in midfield.

Stop playing Fletch? It's the first time he's started since the game vs Burnley.
As for this game, Newcastle are very beatable despite their result against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago, soft defence and a hit and miss attack. I see nothing but a United win.

We should be able to beat Newcastle without getting out of third gear but as I keep repeating myself game after game it all depends on what tactics VG uses. If we play like yesterday then we could be in trouble. VGs philosophy seems to be if we keep the ball they can't score but what's the point of knocking it about 50 times if there's no end product? I'm by no means calling for VGs head but I must admit I don't like him. I have first hand experience of him the second time he managed Barcelona and he came off more as a clown than a top class coach which is why I didn't want him in the first place. But he's here now so shit happens. Once he realises his ego is bigger than his actual skill sets then maybe we can get back to basics, play a formation the players understand and play players where they will benefit the club instead of trying to be too clever.

Rafael is not shown in the injury list and Rojo's return date mentioned as 26th december with 'slight doubt'

That is the team I would want us to play and hope we can kill them off in the first 60 mins maybe get 3 goals and take off some players for the match against Tottenham Hotspurs on the 28th.

Rafael was on the bench yesterday so he's obviously fit to play. Rojo I don't know about.

ayoze Perez is a threat with his pace and movement especially for a daft player like Evans and by the way how did Evans go from being our best defender in our past two seasons to our worst including McNair and Blackett. I think Rojo will play as soon as he is fit like he did when he came back surprisingly against Stoke or Hull. I hope Shaw is back before the new year

Quick question. Can Rooney, RVP and Falcao play in the same team? The reason I ask is even though they are all top class strikers our creative play seems to be affected. Yesterday against Villa we seemed to be too top heavy with nobody supplying or creating. Not much point in having such a formidable attacking line if they can't get the ball.

they were good against west ham and Leicester before the capitulation and I think they are all about to hit top form which would be good for us going forward. I think our link up play might be affected but if we have Carrick, Herrera and Di Maria in support they can compensate for their lack of link up play but movement wise they are good together.
