First round of group games nearing an end in next day or 2
Missing chances are part of football yes, but have defences and keepers got better or has the standard of finishing the ball to the net dropped off??
I'm thinking to the tighter games where the goals mean a lot more than England, France or Spain's cakewalks.
I'm noticing too a lot more penalties being missed this season and that's carried over into the world cup. Penalties are the holy grail so need to put away when the pressure is on
I'm more than happy to ask because thank #### it doesn't involve United but it does stick out at me given our struggles and when our eventual search for a striker begins.
These are international teams, so they should already have fully fledged strikers, but even at that I'm noticing similar problems

I'd say defensive coaching is winning and there are very few actual goal scorers out there. bit sad at the minute

Those 2 2nd halves by Brazil and Portugal is more like it.
Some players cant be half toothless enough sometimes. Don't know him but Raphinha had enough for a hat trick in that one and take pressure off the team

The way they played todayare the epitomy of the football I despise right now.
So insipid in attack but once they kept Iran in the game a moment like Hennessy's was always likely to happen or Iran have their inevitable purple patch.
Iran had no plan other than to stay in the game but Wales asked no questions of their setup. Which is surprising after their 2nd half performance against USA.
Ramsey sh1t Bale sh1t Moore sh1t
I say all this as a complete neutral as I'm not really bothered about the outcomes of NT football but surely this was the most winnable game in the group???

Faux-control football alive and well with Netherlands
I'm completely scarred by this kind of football. Ideal start and then a sit back job and let Ecuador back into it.
Lucky to get draw out of it

No because Wales froze and have no real experience and Carlos has Iran pumped up, they wanted it more, surprised me too, but they deserved it on who wanted it more

Hey I didn't say it was good but that's what passes for international football when you've got no quality or depth.
England, I mean Southgate does England again

I don't get it
Too many managers now with an emphasis on tactics and systems. Mount is still on the pitch ffs

The last world cup had one 0-0
This one is on course for five 0-0's and the group stages aren't even over yet
