There's some very weird background stuff around; from Bayern not wanting to do business with with Barca cause they believe they will be out of business this time next year, it's that bad. Barca owing FDJ 17m in back wages is the likely log jam, United board being stupid as fuck is up there too.

Look at face value FDJ is way above our station atm , literally fantasy football. Clearly ETH has told them to go balls in for him at the expense of all else - fine, no problem with that. Problem starts IF they've wasted all that time KNOWING Barca's true situation and the extent of what they owe him and walked into an ambush where Barca expect United to cover his wages as part of any deal and the whole thing falls apart, or some such shit.
Be interesting to see how it pans out

And I definitely didn't read fine details over Barca and them but and but.
Here we go with wages. I said it No matter what the setup is
but by saying anything like that to do with Barca, we're setting the precedent again that players can do what they want and we take the beating for wages

Point I'm getting at is that our days of marquee signings/activity needs to come to an end
And I hope De Jong doesn't fall into this category regardless of whether it's his fault or not.
This is what we as club need to get away from
And that's not even counting the backdrop to the Ronaldo situation. This De Jong signing better be worth the build up
We will remember this time here fondly however it goes

Players like FDJ don't come around often, certainly not to us in our position. You can literally build a team round him for years because he's virtually press resistant.
Sneaky feelin gut instinct but I think he wants to put him and Garner together as a double pivot permanent fixture - assuming Jimmy shines this tour
