It's not it's part of the picture, Shaw is part of the problem himself - erratic form being the biggest, all these fuckers are culpable really

There's just a "We are United" and "We are this" culture at United. We always had that yes but we were able to back it up that's the difference. It's all well and good being arrogant but we have to be able to back it up
Most of them think they can just turn up because of the name and that it will be alright on the night
This starts before the players even leave the dressing room if you ask me

I'm not say this is a turning point but it is significant. I think Rangnick is the first man in a while that has finally forced the hand of the players that actually moves beyond personal agendas or weaknesses. Rangnick brings no baggage and is going in with his ideas, not favouring or opposing anyone and saying lets see what you've got then. City do the press and Liverpool do the press. It's not than alien of a concept Solskjaer was ideal becuase of inexperience and might have been seen by some as a soft touch. If Ole then wasn't a "high pressing" manager what was the difficulty with his approach??? Soft touch and definitely an easier target amongst elite managers anyway. But no answers from the players what the problem was there. Mourinho, where to start. Maybe it just isn't worth starting with his approach. As with all his other club failures/endings, when things aren't going his way, it's toys out of the pram. Like what he done to Shaw publicly for example, another tailormade excuse for the players even if they never gave a #### about Shaw . So now without those background excuses they're slowly running out of ideas and excuses

It's going to be VERY interesting, and telling, to watch what happens and which way that board jumps and whether they really have the stomach for what's needed - I don't like the fact that Ralf is being hand held by Fletcher and Phelan is still lurking - so far Ralf has one staff member with him and the rest waiting for work permits???
I don't trust this board any further than I can shit. We'll see.
Ole was a counter attacking manager - nothing wrong with that, but ultimately limited and not fully United. So he tried to change it to a more attacking possession based set up, moving things further up the pitch - BIG problem if you don't have the basic players and football framework to do it within. For the life of me I'll NEVER understand why he didn't address the midfield - and I include Carrick and Phelan in that - it was criminally negligent then and it is now.
Who is in charge of recruitment ultimately??

Rangnicnk isn't going to be in this for the long term so there's no point in anyone getting their knickers in a twist especially the players.
Assuming Fletcher and Phelan have been trusted with any rolls they've been given, there can't be much benefit in the long them acting the #####.
None of these guys are the 11 that take to pitch.
Even Carrick got a rise out of them when he was interim and he was lambasted from all quarters. Like I say they can only act professionally. Up to the players to do likewise

Like I said here Sunday we've not had a decent midfield since Fergie's years. And midfield was dieing a death way before the end of his tether here
Countless rows amongst fans about our midfield only for Ferguson to pull the results out and everyone was like alright afterwards

All smells of another clearout being needed with the picture that's being painted. Given all the years of trying to remain positive and thinking that the corner would be turned, it's crazy to think but here we are

The board, or Arnold in particular, has worked out that if you can't beat them you'll have to join them. That's why Rangnick is here not only as interim but to size up what's needed going forward.
You need players who can actually DO high pressing football, it's not just physical it's a tough mental mindset that goes with it - that involves very good recruitment and knowing exactly what you want and what you want to see on the pitch.
I don't see they (owners / board) have a choice but to roll with it, personally. And Arnold definitely does NOT want to be a hands on CEO like Woodward. Which is the biggest saving grace we've had in 10 years.
