We're winning whilst being wank, definitely a positive sign for me. Just gotta imagine how good we're going to be when we actually play well and string a few forward passes together.

Can't wait to put all these injuries behind us , get a full first choice eleven starting regularly and there will be no stopping us. The "philosophy" is starting to develop and we are definitely going in a positive direction. A decimated team which is contributing to some less than great performances are now third in the league, albeit with West Ham fourth and with five straight wins under our belt, number six now next week and we will be smiling all the more.

I really like the battling spirit they're showing this season. We can say players always fight til the end and it should be a given but last season there were games in which we didn't look like we had any bottle whatsoever. This season is different, against Arsenal and tonight we could have folded and lost by 3 or 4 and would have last season. Not this year though.
When you think about the run of form, it's even more impressive considering we're constantly changing the defence, mainly due to injury. We've played our last few games without a recognised full back for fuck sake. Yes we were fortunate but at the same time Southampton didn't make De Gea work all that much. And other areas of the pitch we are constantly missing players as well whether it be Rooney, Di Maria, Blind and oh yeah I forgot, one of the best strikers in the world in Falcao who has barely been fit since joining.
I just hope we can get players back fit and keep them that way, particularly in defence, Smalling is out again so we're left with a back four of Valencia, Evans, Rojo and Young (who was great once again tonight). If we can get another result with a defence like that on Sunday then I'll start believing anything is possible with this team especially when we get more players back fit. I'm just starting to feel like no matter who we play, what team we put out or whether we're home or away we can win every game, it's a nice feeling to have.
I'm not saying I think we'll win the league but my optimism has already increased from thinking we'd finish 4th to me thinking we'll finish 3rd and we're only 8 points behind Chelsea now and on a great run of results, who knows how long this run could continue, we've not got the toughest run of fixtures, after Liverpool we have Spurs away in a few weeks but after that we don't face a really tough test until March (by that I mean a top side, obviously sides like West Ham aren't going to be easy games).
Put it one way if we can get through the holiday period still within 8 points of Chelsea you'd have to be stupid to completely dismiss our chances of winning the league.

The loss vs Newcastle could possibly take a negative on the Chelsea mindset now they know we are improving so rapidly. Aready Jose is out in the media knocking Costa's fitness..inspiration or desperation? If we keep going, history will tell Jose to never right us off and he may get a bit jangly and City have the African Nations Cup to contend with as well as Aguero's injury and Arsenal should do their usaul disappearing act round Easter time. I never thought for a million years a few weeks ago that we could be where we are now so why not believe that we can push on for the title? It's not a pipe-dream by any stretch, May is a long way off yet.

The 3-5-2 formation doesn't suit us, our CBs looks clueless on the ball and wing backs/full backs offer nothing going forward its more like a 5-3-2 which makes us out numbered when we attack and there is no pace at all. 4 at the back and a midfield diamond is the way forward. I'm happy that we are creating a winning habit even though the performance was dire and the thing with LVG is he is not satisfied with the win and clearly mentioned that the performance was not upto the mark. Credit to RVP and I'm one of them who wanted RVP to be dropped but he played his way through and Young is showing some consistency in the left back position which is a plus. Overall happy with the win but not happy with the performance.

I also think we're going to get better as the season progresses, we have a team full of winners, most of them have won league titles, then you have some of the guys who we bought in the summer are also winners. So if we do get into a title race it won't phase us like it did with Liverpool last year. Put it one way... is this United side better than the Liverpool side of last year? I think we are, the difference is Liverpool hit a massive purple patch and never looked like losing for weeks but on paper this United side should be more capable of winning the league than Liverpool last year.
I still think Chelsea will run out winners but not by as big a margin as I once thought, they've looked vulnerable the last couple of games. City are improving all the time but without Aguero for a couple of weeks you can see them dropping more points. I don't think we'll win the league but I do now think we'll put in some sort of challenge, which seemed inconceivable a couple of weeks ago.
