would rather Lemar than Perisic. hard to justify 50 mill for a guy who didn't even score 15 goals in the Serie A.

Exactly, could understand going for Alexis at around 50m but otherwise I like Lemar. DM is a bit tricky, obviously there's Fabinho but I have no real other option. I like Niguez but he seems bound to AM for life. I still rate strootman but age and injuries count against him. Dier is at least British and young enough to develop. Atleti's ban has just screwed us or we could have raided them for Griezmann, Saul and Carrasco Inter seem to be dragging their feet and are asking too much, Spurs/Levy are notoriously difficult to deal and don't appear to want to sell with so I don't understand why we don't just pursue easier alternatives it's not like we can't walk away from these deals and acquire two players of similar quality. Lemar is a different type of player but would be better value and for DM there are players like Fabinho, N'Zonzi, Danilo Pereira or even take a punt on someone like Romeu. I'm all for signing British players first and foremost but they've got to be something special or worth it, Dier for me isn't. Hopefully they are more smoke screens..

Dier getting more intense trough media. I am not convinced either and I agree being british is a plus but shouldn't be the only benefit.
What about those stories he grew up as one of us and Keane being his childhood hero?
I mean a core of british players / players that are desperate to play for us is more worth than having 11 superstars.
On the other Blind came to us as player of the season from Ajax, having played that term as holding mid.
I'd rather see him given a chance than any of the names except Fabinho.
We should never sign mediocre players. Before doing so rather look at the academy and turn to TFM. Much more potential than any of them

please tell me we put a buy-back clause. I mean the money is inconsequential but he could very well be a star for them.

Also we missed out on Semedo, he's off to Barca for 30 mill...... That is annoying because he would have been great. We should go for Cancelo from Valencia or even intervene on the Danilo to Chelsea deal. 50 mill for Dier is insane. He isn't nearly that good. If those are the options, i would go for William Carvalho. A proper Defensive midfielder who can pass out also. I think he would compliment both Pogba and Herrera's style nicely and offers something completely different. We'd be competing against West Brom at least. For the rest of the summer, i'd say we should do these: (Prices are in pounds) Alexis Sanchez - 60 million (estimating but he is expiring, if Lukaku on a longish contract gets 75 mill, then an older, expiring Sanchez is worth about this) William Carvalho - 25 million (That's roughly what City and West Brom are offering Sporting at least) Joao Cancelo - 22.5 million (Juve will have to pay about 25 million euro's so its about right i think). De Gea Cancelo/Valencia-Lindelof-Bailly-Shaw/Darmian Carvalho Pogba-Herrera Mhkitariyan-Lukaku-Sanchez I mean ffs, Carvalho + Cancelo will cost us less than Dier alone which is ridiculous since Carvalho is a better player than Dier.

If that's the case I have to agree but should hopefully be enough to consolidate top four.
I know Mourinho tends to like a small squad but if we want to compete on all fronts and cope in fixture pile ups like last season we need more options. Jose will seriously need to up his game.

Yeah the youth will have to come in big time if we don't go out and buy more than 2 more. Its a top 4 side but nothing that would challenge for the prem by any means.

Yeah, we may have 2/4 transfers done but the 2 left are the most important positions with DM and LW. We have to get that right this time!

Still not sure why we aren't going after Sanchez. He's premier league proven, is also 28 and is miles better than Ivan Perisic.

Where does that Verratti rumour come from? What a signing he would be. Despite him not fitting the bill in terms of our requirements at CDM, he is a player you do not think twice when you have the opportunity...
re: Sanchez...I don't understand either. If both parties wanted the deal, there would be a way
