If DDG were to leave, Cech would be a more than adequate replacement for him. Hopefully he wouldn't cost too much, like around £15 million, and that will certainly be a significantly lower amount of money than what Real would likely offer us.
BTW Spens, remember a certain Edwin Van Der Sar? We signed him when he was 34 going on 35. At the time it also seemed to be a mere short-term solution, but signing him turned out all right, didn't it.....

I was probably exaggerating too much, but watching it is still depressing... a bored, disillusioned suburban man, with a phony materialistic wife and an insecure daughter, both hating his guts... archetypal dysfunctional family. And this crazily vain girl who tries to pass off as some man slayer, and a ridiculous army guy who controls his son..... it's a great movie, but all these factors just make it quite bleak.

Is it a bad thing that I don't really give a shit about the SEA Games football?
Although it's good to hear that we beat the Phillipinos, but I seriously doubt we will win it, since we've never won it before, even though we are hosts.

American Beauty. I'm only half an hour through and I feel as if it epitomises almost everything wrong about America's social state.

You have every right to be livid, Monty. The internet can be a very deceptive and dangerous place...

FIFA is so corrupt now, caring much more about power and money that the very sport they are supposed to govern. It looks as if the only way to remove Blatter from power is to actually kill him! It's really disheartening to see a situation like this....

I wouldn't give it a rating out of ten. Has this been an excellent season? Nope, not by any means. Has it been good enough in terms of what we needed to do? Certainly.
Our transfer activity last summer wasn't exactly the best (look at our two South American attacking superstars), but we can certainly take heart from Herrera's performances during the last two months of the season. Rojo and Blind look promising too, and hopefully Shaw can come good. Despite some of the poor performances and results we've witnessed this season, I am still confident that Van Gaal is the man to take us forward into the post-SAF era (unlike my old man).

Haha yeah, all of them went pretty well, especially Maths it's funny because i still have a couple more left but my next one is in 8 days time, and then after that I have another 8 days before the next. So they're all spread out. Getting my results during August is gonna be really nerve-wracking.

Bend it Like Beckham, not for the sake of entertainment but for some solid Film Studies exam revision.

Not long ago I wrote a post on the old forum about how England had a lot of good young players but with the exception of strikers. Now we have Kane - who is probably the most hyped young player since Rooney - and players like Austin, Ings, and Berahino, who have all had good to great seasons but didn't even get picked for the squad, and James Wilson looks like the real deal, too. I know one or two good seasons doesn't guarantee success with the national team. We have had many strikers who looked like potential England regulars only to never really do it at international level, Kevin Phillips being a good example, but the future is definitely looking a lot brighter. Funny how things can change in less than a year. Now all we have to do is unearth a young defensive midfielder or two and we'd be golden. Do you still stand by that statement?
