Saints usually have a go which should suit us, we need a reaction and three points,

He might have his hand forced a little with Martial and Shaw out. If we don't brain fart we should get back on track.
Greenwood, Gomes, Chong are all itching to get busy.

Be interesting to see what Ole does, will he go with Greenwood but that leaves no striker on the bench or Rashford up top and James on his favoured left side.

If I see Lingard starting I'm taking Ole off my Xmas card list. Hasn't done anything in a long time to deserve a starting spot. Probably won't happen but I'd love to see McT as the CM enforcer, Garner dictating the play with Pogba playing further forward where he can be more of a goal threat and can't cause as much damage playing further back. Can see Matic starting this one which will really piss me off.

James on the left, Mata on the right, Pereira as number 10? Rashford as number 9? Mmmmmmmmmm not too sure about this line up. Looks like Freds days are numbered. Garner not making the squad.

Not Oles fault but with just a couple of players out our squad doesn't look much better than bang average. Next season will be better when the youngsters get more experience but this season is too soon for them.

Disappointing result, didn’t create enough and when we did we were wasteful.
Pogba and McT as a pair just not working, Pogba was a complete passenger defensively and we had no control. We never got going in the second half to build on our lead and Ole left it too late with the subs. Great goal from James and another good game from him, our other two signings have been very good but we’ve got gaping holes that need sorting.

Nothing new learnt from that game. Pereira offers nothing, Mata may still have moments during a game but it won't be enough. Rashford will never be a number 9. He just doesn't have the instinct for it. Pogba the first half was a disgrace. Second half he upped his game a little but still no where near the required standard. Ole looking more and more lost with each game and his subs were definitely a WTF moment. Letting Smalling go was a joke. Still put the blame on Ed for not bringing in other players. It's all well and good Ole having his vision but what's the point if he's back managing in the Norwegian league? I'm not even going to blame the players. The effort from them was still there. It's not their fault they're not good enough. The only shinning light is AWB and James. As Ed would say, who'd of thunk it?

As much as you want to slam Ole for lousy use of subs, and I do, it's a wider picture than that. We are what we are and what we have been turned into, which is a top 10 side who will struggle to get into the top 6. It's fucking pointless going into it because we've just lived it over this transfer window, the damage has now been done. Ole will just have to get on with it and do the best he can with what he has available while the rest of us sit in stunned silence.
