Looking at the other teams outside of England so far in the CL knockout stages, I think you may be right Matt

English football has been made "ridiculous" once again in Europe. People can moan about LVG as much as they want, I think I am starting to understand what he is doing here at United. He is not only building a team for England, he is building a team and a philosophy for Europe as well. It will take time, but at least we're moving forward. Is that me being overoptimistic or blind ? Time will tell Completely agree, I actually think that already we'd have done better in Europe this season than both City and Arsenal look like they're going to do.

Agree as well. Watching Monaco who are 4th (?) in their league give a tactical masterclass to Arsenal last night was a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind us having a go at that Monaco team and I think we'd do a far better job than Arsenal

let's not forget that if we do get fourth that we may have a qualifying round and if not, we will not be seeded in our group., to look at the real picture.... Money, fine, progression................?

........and where has it got them? Have they ever gone on to win it? It's usually a seeded team who wins it, hence the seeding...

English teams were shit again in Europe, only Chelsea and Everton in the Europa of some chances to achieve something and to pick up some points. If this trend continues, fourth place could be lost to some other country. I didn't look at the last ratings but hearing France is not far off behind and Italian teams are doing very well recently.
Watching Spurs vs Fiorentina, Liverpool vs Besiktas and Arsenal vs Monaco, I feel there is some regression in quality of the EPL compared to the rest of Europe. Could be just a blip though but it's not something to just turn the blind eye on it. There was City too but, that's just City, tactically naive in Europe again. Same goes for Arsenal.

Bit early to be talking about winning the champions league. Lets get back into it first.
Nobody can seriously take Arsenal's knockout record in the competition as a comparison especially after the other night.
Usually a seeded team wins it because the seeded teams are very good.
Europe like any other cup competition is very much down to the luck of the draw. To be the best you have to beat the best

A leopard doesn't change his spots, he is what he is no matter what club he plays for. This will not change because he plays for Barca. A fine player, but scum is scum, Enrique could well be eating his words soon.
