Yeah, and nights spent in casino doesn't help the cause either.
I'm not sure he has that desire anymore in him now when he won everything with 3 different teams/selections, but Vertonghen, Howedes, Garay and Vlaar for instance...

I've always liked Vertonghen, wouldn't mind him at all. Howedes I don't know anything about so I can't give my opinion. Still not too fond of Garay and Vlaar for me is a biiiiiiiig no. Wouldn't mind Godin. A no nonsense defender who hardly gets injured. Not the prettiest of defenders but at the minute that is not what we need. If rumours are true that Varane is up for sale (can't see it myself) then we should move heaven and earth for him. His rumoured £20m price tag is a joke but I'd be willing to pay £35m for him. After all, it's not my money

I think it's more of a chance that Real would sell Ronaldo and Bale in one window than they would Varane, but what I know anyway!
As for Godin, he's a real motherfecker who would be a solid bitch at the back for us and quite a leader, but I can't see Atletico letting him go.
To be completely honest, I'd take all of them linked with us in the last couple of weeks, I'm in that state of mind now regarding our all at the back!

If the first tweet is correct and turns out to be a truth, then it would be madness not to buy at least one defender! Even without selling anyone, not bringing someone in is ridiculous to say the least.

They are out of contract in the summer, so are allowed to speak to other clubs. They'll probably get new deals towards the end of the season.

I would cry if we let McNair and Blackett go so I hope this rumour is not true. Think both of them have done well this season, some on and off matches but that's to be expected at their age.

What rumor? They're free to talk to other clubs, that doesn't mean we're letting them go... They can still be offered new contracts later in the season.

I didn't know they were out of contracts. All makes sense now - trying to create some panic

Done deal - Manchester United approve signing of Aleksandar Dragovic for €20m, Austrian reports growManchester United have approved the signing of Austrian international Aleksander Dragovic according to a claim in the country. The Premier League club have been linked with the player repeatedly over the past couple of days and it's either over-excitement from some in the Austrian media, or a deal is on the verge of being finalised. Austria's Sport Net say that Manchester United's board in place at Old Trafford have given the green light for the transfer it's only a veto from the Glazer family which could stop a deal. That veto is stated as being very unlikely. The footballer's contract is apparently done and ready to be signed. The price of the transfer is put at €20m which will be a good fee as far as his current club Dynamo Kiev are concerned. Manchester United may feel that's a little high for the 23 year old but it's not too unreasonable. Manchester United have been linked with many central defenders during the current transfer window and Dragovic is just one of those. Whilst there's no denying that the Austrian claims sound encouraging, there's every possibility someone is mistaken or going over the top. Sport Net are not the only ones with the claims, Laola (Austria's biggest sport media outlet) are carrying them too and it originally comes from Kronen Zeitung newspaper. sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/done-deal-manchester-united-approve-signing-of-aleksandar-dragovi______________________________________________________________________________________ So, anyone knows something about him?
