Pre season fitness plans with Ole look brutal, can't wait Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly planned a gruelling pre-season training camp for his players to get them in shape for the 2019-20 campaign.
The Red Devils boss recently confessed that it will be difficult to bridge the gap on top-two sides Liverpool and Manchester City in the space of one transfer window.
According to The Sun, Solskjaer will get tough with his misfiring squad in the summer so that they can hit the ground running next term.
Solskjaer is said to have held meetings with training-ground staff earlier this week to inform them that he wants the facilities ready for July 1, when the majority of his players will report back.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Staff have been in meetings at Carrington this week and told that all essential staff need to be around for the start of July.
"He's wants the pitches ready because he wants to kick off with a major boot camp style fitness regime. It certainly sounds more serious than it has done for a few years.
"He wants a lot of the core fitness work done before they head out to Australia so they can concentrate more on tactics and team in matches.
"A few of the lads thought they might have an extra few days rest but it is being made clear that Ole is cracking the whip.
"The exact date for each player to be back hasn't been finalised yet, but some will be back in on July 1, some on the 3rd and some on the 5th."
United's first pre-season friendly is scheduled to take place in Australia on July 13.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues Man Utd shake-up with two new backroom appointments
The Norwegian boss is making changes across the board at Manchester United
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is continuing to shake up his backroom staff, and has confirmed two new appointments.
Solskjaer is looking to make his mark at Old Trafford and has set about changing the culture of a club that has stagnated, finishing sixth last term.
United have spent £68million on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, but Solskjaer is also making moves behind the scenes.
One of those has been to appoint his former teammate, Michael Clegg, as the club's new first-team strength and power coach.
Clegg made 16 appearances for United between 1996 and 2001 and played for England Under-21s, before going on to hold a similar role with Sunderland following his retirement.
Clegg wrote on Twitter : "It's an honour to be back at the club I love and one of the best clubs in the world.
United have also confirmed the appointment of Ed Leng as the club's new first-team lead sports scientist.
They are just the latest changes on the club's coaching and medical staff, with Richard Hartis having also been re-appointed as senior goalkeeping coach last month.

I think the strategy has definitely changed but I don't think Ole has anything to do with it. It's Ed that's changing. I think he's finally realised that bringing in has beens or players like Di Maria who never wanted to be here in the first place for astronomical sums isn't the way to go. And he's probably only realised by default (not because he's good at his job) because shares have dropped by a billion in the last year. I still think Bruno and Maquire will be coming but if they don't then this so called strategy will be our downfall. Eds a banker. Its not rocket science, we have have to speculate to accumulate. Eds come out so many times boasting about how rich we are and how we can sign anyone we want. So it's his own feckin fault that Leicester want 10m more than Maquires worth. Time to put up or shut up Ed.

MUNICH HERO DIES
Sad start to Monday morning, after Harry Gregg passed away at the age of 87.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper was among those to have survived the Munich air disaster that killed 23 people in total, including eight of the Busby Babes players.
After the plane crashed, Gregg regained consciousness and helped passengers to safety, including teammates Bobby Charlton and Dennis Viollet.

Harry Gregg legend in his own goalkeeping right, and so little playing footage available online. Same for most of them really, particularly Duncan Edwards. Some '58 FA Cup final highlights package gold from Pathe news here: www.britishpathe.com/video/the-cup-final-13Bygone age... very, very sadly.
