Is it too early for this thread? Probably, but I'm bored with the international breaks and can't wait for this game.
We didn't do well against City and Liverpool currently are playing pretty attractive football so not entirely confident with this game, but as far as I know we don't have any major players injured so that's a start.
Pogba and Herrera should start no matter what imo and I'd also prefer Mata over Rooney.

This is always a Big game and this season predicting the winner is going to be a case of " Ifs ".
If the real United turn up well we are in with a shout.
Klopp has Liverpool really up to speed and with the backing of the Kop, expect 100% from every player. Rooney being eclipsed by Jordan Henderson is a factor but I cannot see Rooney being in the starting 11.
My heart says United but my Brain is still mulling this one over.

Rooney being eclipsed by Jordan Henderson is a factor In his dreams.
De Gea Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Blind Carrick Herrera - Pogba Rashford - Ibra - Martial
Herrera and Pogba just isn't going to cut it defensively, we'll need an extra body in there, I'd prefer Carrick but we could we go like the 2nd half of City with Fellaini and Pogba pushed up and Herrera in behind using our physicality and height. Ibra should be enough to start with though, can knock it long to piss off Flopp and avoid their press. We sent these twats packing last season, same again please

Interesting game, difficult game. Comes down to how well we counteract the high pressing. If we defend well and counter then we'll win. If we don't defend and snub out we'll get tanked. I would say Herrera, Pogba, Carrick are a must too.

agree with Carrick but Mou won't throw him in the way he used him so far. Anything but Fellaini, he'll can't cope with the speedy players and we don't need his height in this game. This game will be won on the ground!

Mourinho has confirmed to MUTV that both Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are available for selection for the trip to Anfield.

My feeling is that the game will be drawn. My first prediction was 1 - 1 but then on consideration I changed it to 2 - 2.
As far as I can discover only Phil Jones is not fit for United so my starting Line-up is :-
De Gea
Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Shaw
Carrick
Mata - Pogba - Herrera
Rashford - Ibra

tbh my feeling isn't great going into this game. Klopp is playing exactly the type of football that causes us or the Mourinho style of play massive problems. Fear we are going to be pressed deep into our own half and just going for the counter attack. Hope I am wrong and we start the game on the front foot. my 11: BIG DAVE TONY MIKE BAILLY SHAW HERRERA POGBA RASHFORD MATA MARTIAL ZLATAN If Carrick had played mor football so far I'd certainly had put him in but too risky give him his first start in such game.

Fellaini? Fear we are going to see the headless chicken again. Absolutely not the type of player you want to see against Klopp's pressing.

Happy with the point, could be worse. Just need to cut out the silly results like Stoke at home then this would be all the more impressive. At least we know we're capable now under the new regime in our rivals. Especially after the disaster that was the derby.
We should know what to do (and what not to do) against City next week with Chelsea away beforehand. They (chelsea) still haven't got any momentum going and look to be less of a unit. Of the 2 away to Liverpool and Chelsea I would have said Chelsea look the most winnable.
Another intriguing tactical match awaits from Jose and indeed Conte

Came for the draw, got the draw. It wasn't entertaining but I'll take it.
Point was a fair result, both teams had their chances just didn't take them, restricted them to Can chance and a punt from Coutinho, defensively we were solid and Dave just played his part. Herrera was excellent, eyebrows raised about Fellaini and Young at the start but both played their part as did the others.
We tried to take the game to them when we had the ball especially first half but Ibra and Pogba just weren't at it, no Martial as well which was a miss. A little disappointing Mou didn't go for it towards the end but he came for a point.
Just got to turn it up against Chelsea.
