Brisbane Roar 3-2 Wellington Phoenix
well i'll be damned we actually beat a quality team. Frans is still a crap coach tbh. the replacement we are getting better be good
Crowd: 9263 (wow that is fucking terrible, even for a monday, if a city with 2.5 million people can't draw 10k, there are issues, ffs people of brisbane, get your shit together and attend some games)

Tim Cahill has signed with Shanghai Shenhua..........
not that he doesn't deserve the money but whats with the golden generations agenda against coming to the a-league, the league is good. and to be honest i am sure a team like the victory, sydney fc or city would pay him (and the wanderers are mad to not give the local hero a fantastic offer) ffs what a waste of an opportunity. oh well at least it isn't Qatar or the UAE where he would fade into obscurity like Holman

of course $ydney, of course. the wanderers surely could have given him this. i am sure most of the teams could have offered him something, sydney included in terms of an off-pitch role. hell, offer him a role as a youth coach or something when he retires. Its kind of what clubs like the Mariners and Roar have done.
ffs though recruiting needs to go up another notch from some clubs, most of the clubs have been poor in the use of both marquee player positions, some clubs have aussie marquees for the sake of it when those guys could be under the cap or should be cause they aren't any better than the players in their squad in the first place.

Would have love to see Timmy Cahill in the Malaysian Super League. If Timmy went to the Malaysian super league before the a-league it would be incredible (and i mean that in a bad way, nothing to do with the standard, everything to do with the fact that he would be doing everything to avoid returning to aus) Jeronimo has been released by the jets (they have like 14 players left. Wonder if he tries to get another a-league gig or just goes overseas (he could make a bench somewhere in the a-league)

The Malaysian super league has been surprising most of us lately, including myself...Daniel guiza, Pablo Aimar, George Boateng, Caleb Folan, Abdullaye Faye, El Hadji Diouf, Damion Stewart and Zesh Rehman are among the elite players who have played or are still playing here. There were talks JDT will be bringing in Torres, Llorente and Mario Gomes in 2016. Timmy Cahill? meh..lol

I do know about Safuwan Baharudin's move to Melbourne City that happened a week or so ago, and haven't expressed my thoughts yet. Apologies if that was what you were looking for, Spens.
I don't watch much of the National Team live tbh (it is a painful experience), but from what I can see Safuwan is a quality player, easily one of the most talented on the Singapore team. He's primarily a center back but because of his calmness and composure on the ball, he can also slot into central midfield when needed. I even saw him play up front once, can't remember when. I wish he could be more physical, especially when dealing with bigger, bulkier forwards, but considering the overall level of ability within our national team he is a blessing. He is definitely able to cope with the A-League, and I hope, and think, that he will succeed there. This move can only be positive for Singapore football.

Nope. JDT are still sticking with their current imports as most of them have another year left in them. They were the Super league champions and Malaysia Cup runners-up ... so the imports really did contributed to their success last season. However, we might see a star-studded JDT come 2016. They wanna be the first club team in S.E.A to reach the Asia Champions League. Tall order but if they bring the right imports, it could happen.

i think the key is also having really good domestic players
3 good foreign players 1 good asian player
have good depth and good domestic players
if you have that much then you will do well in the champions league

Newcastle Jets 1-2 Brisbane Roar
we so didn't deserve to win that, we were dreadful. Frans Thisjen, legend of a player, absolutely crap manager. we were lazy out there, off the ball movement was dreadful, there was half a dozen times i wanted to reach through the tv and whack solorzano for being weak. and why the fuck would you play steffanuto centrally ahead of a fit jade north, i don't even rate jade north but he's a hell of a lot more effective than steff at CB. Also Corey Brown is by far one of the worst LB's when it comes to defending, decision making skills are also terrible. The sooner we get a legitimate manager the better (they where saying a portugese primera liga manager which would be decent, though i would probably look towards getting a guy like Oscar Garcia (barca links) or even raiding adelaide and getting gombau up here, if we sacked mulvey for not providing that good looking style, i am sure as hell a guy who came out and said the style of football is more important than the result would be the perfect fit (and he would be) broich + spanish foreigners would rip all the teams a new one.
Hoole is a boss though, easily the most influential out of the newcastle players, shame he's going to sydney. Honestly the jets need to get rid of that fat fuck tinkler (hopefully the ffa step in and get rid of him, debt cleared or not) maybe a consortium of local business owners and fans can get something done and buy the club off him.
Crowd: 6994 (do you blame them with all the shit the fans have had to deal with, its amateur hour at the jets)
