That's the question Dave. Because we didn't go for him the first time round does his vindictivness run so deep he's trying his best to destroy the legacy SAF left behind? I know he has the so called 3rd season syndrome but in the other clubs he's been to at least he won the league and made it look like he was going in the right direction. With us he's not even going through the motions. I do like a conspiracy theory

Hard to tell if he'd have been here following Fergie because he'd have kept that ageing squad together and probably made some shrewd purchases created an instant vibe and got the whole thing rolling - provided the board would have done exactly what he asked.
Instead he's third manager in with other managers players filling a squad, he's beyond anal about defence and feels he's been denied a top class CB - can't really argue with him on that. It wasn't the missing piece but it's a big one.
He's definitely temperamental enough to throw his arms in the air and say fuck it if he feels he's not backed properly, and walk off taking a big pay off. Which is why I think Poch will be the next manager here under the Glazer turd fest.

Don't think a £12m payoff to get rid of the toxicity destroying our club is that much tbh. Maybe have to pay more to get another manager in but since all the club do is boast about how economical successful they are it would be money very well spent for once. Reference SAFs last squad even though they won the league let's face it they were absolute crap and only SAF could of won the league with them, that's just a measure of how much of a genius he really was. Mou would of struggled just as much if he had of inherited that squad.

Mo's latest comments/excuses sound more like they would come from a newly elected manager of a struggling championship club when they need 12 points from 6 games to avoid relegation.
For the love of Mike this is UNITED with multi million pound players earning many of millions to boot, top class support staff and training facilities so MO don't come this load of drivel, you dictate the tactics, you select the squad, you oversee training. So man-up and F*ck Off soon.

For the love of Mike this is UNITED with multi million pound players earning many of millions to boot, top class support staff and training facilities so MO City do, United should but we don't, we were on course to pre Glazers, that's an ownership problem and a large part of the overall problem. Mo's latest comments/excuses sound more like they would come from a newly elected manager of a struggling championship club when they need 12 points from 6 games to avoid relegation. No doubt he has underperformed, not adapted well and looks piss poor and out of his depth. If he had a solid defence you'd see a more attacking side but he doesn't trust them. All the obvious said we'd be dumb to get rid of him without having a solid replacement lined up. I'd take Poch in a heartbeat but the problem of the owners lack of footballing knowledge and lack of joined up thinking for the club isn't going to get resolved unless they completely revamp from the top down. I've seen no evidence thus far that this is going to happen.

Well that's a nice early Xmas present. Let's just hope the club has a plan b. Wouldn't mind another dinosaur coming in as long as we bring in someone modern in the summer.

He's gone, so I am back on here. First post for quite a while. Was sick of his bullshit. Glad to see him gone. Finally I can enjoy games and the forum again.

Carrick is interim manager for two days, then a temporary manager till the end of the season is to be announced, supposedly tying up the loose ends with someone who is already in a position......which sounds to me like Giggs, but who knows.

Beyond overdue. He shouldn't have made it into this season (2nd place be damned, we were rubbish and we knew it).
We should have sacked him at the end of last season and went for Poch then. Now we need to probably play the season out, sort out our defense in january (meaning buying an experienced, world class CB to put next to Bailly and then sell at least 2 of the other clowns) and then make the hire, do a Kane for Lukaku + cash swap (it wouldn't be that much i feel), Ali for Mata/some other mid other than pogba + cash. Hell, we should consider making a play for Mbappe (we lack something).
Lets be real though, the fault lies with Woodward and our useless owners. Get that director of football in now (Van Der Sar is a great choice since he knows the club well and has experience) and move Woodward into the business side purely (he is horrible at transfers, we always pay over and always sell for under).
