I think this election also highlights how desperately we need voting reform. Labour gained votes, but lost seats. Greens and UKIP have one seat each, but both got significantly more total votes than the SNP, who have 56 seats. We need proportional representation.

Without a shadow of a doubt. I think the result would've been different if voting was different. The way it is currently, there's a hell of a lot of tactical voting that goes on to prevent others from potentially gaining seats. A lot of people spoke about not voting for the Conservatives because they liked/agreed with their policies but because they didn't want to give Labour the chance to form a coalition with the SNP.

That's the crux of it but it's like getting turkeys to vote for Christmas, particularly the Tories. No fundamental change will ever happen in this country, system is designed to be biased and it suits those it suits for a reason. It's profoundly undemocratic but the brutal truth is, no fucker really cares in the wider public. And the establishment and British 'royal family' supported Hitler right up until it was impossible to do otherwise, public weren't really arsed either, he had plenty of support.
A third of eligible voters didn't bother to vote because they can't stand the mainstream horseshit on offer and then don't bother voting for anyone else because they know it's pointless. Green vote increases four fold to over a million votes and yet still end up with just the one seat.
It's called bullshit by design.

I'd not even read your post, my post was about Jerry saying, "bruv."
But yeah, I will illustrate your point because I don't really care unless it effects me/my family on a personal level.

lol. I know I just roped you in because I've seen your previous posts that illustrate what I'm saying - which is fine and normal, to one extent or another, on a personal level. But I was reading Scrapping HRA Would Breach Good Friday Agreement and wondered how the fuck can so called professional English based politicians not know this already, and they do have to accommodate the wider interests unless they want the IRA back visiting them again.

Sorry for pissing you off Marc. But as a matter of fact, everyone around me says that, and it's only when you highlighted my use of the word when I searched it up and realised it had links to chav langauge. Rest assured I have no intention of acting or behaving like one.
