Yeah Mata and Herrera are developing a great relationship and have a very good understanding of each others game. I don't see how Di Maria gets back in the side on that right hand side now.

I don't see how Di Maria gets back in the side on that right hand side now. Me neither, I wouldn't even want him instead of Young. The team is playing fine the way it is: forget the name of the players, their price tag or salaries: we're playing better without Di Maria, and that's a fact.

Yeah can't argue with that, hopefully Young is back in 2 weeks time as he went off with a knock today.

we're playing better without Di Maria, and that's a fact. And this is something that none of us ever thought we'll say. Hopefully Di Maria will pick up his game next season, I'd really want him to succeed here. As for Mata, (I think I saw a mention of that in some paper) we've all been criticizing his lack of pace - did anyone notice it yesterday? Whether it was the system or the players around him I don't know, but his movement was great

Again like with Blind if you're an intelligent player you can make up for your lack of pace. Mata is one of the most intelligent players at the club.

Like most players, when they're n the zone they're great, when they cool off, there deficiencies are exposed. But if you play the right system at the right tempo then you can disguise almost everything with pass and move.

Mata doesn't have much pace, but he knows how to time his runs perfectly. What he needs though are players who can time their passes when Mata times his runs, and conversely. That's what Carrick, Herrera and Blind can bring in the right approach, and in the right system. Mata's future was at doubt, but judging by the way we have played, that emphasis of possession and high pressing, Mata's future looks brighter and brighter.
A lot will be defined when LVG brings in new faces this summer. We will have a clear idea of where we are going.

It's impossible to not love Mata. Such a nice, down to earth bloke. A fantastic footballer and a top professional. When you think there's not much more to love about him; he scores a stunning brace to beat Liverpool.
I hate to think he'd be leaving any time soon.

Herrera comes off the same way too. It's going to be a gut wrenching Summer for VG, there's some really tough decisions to be made. I would NOT like to be in his shoes. lol.

Herrera is definitely one to watch and could easily slot in to the Scholes role and Mata seems to play better when Herrera plays too. This could be a lethal combination if managed correctly,...watch this space...

Juan Mata wins Player of the Month awardJuan Mata has capped a memorable week by claiming Manchester United's Player of the Month award for March. The popular Spaniard proved to be the hero at Anfield last Sunday after his two-goal salvo - including a stunning acrobatic volley - sealed a huge victory against fellow top-four chasers Liverpool. That win followed the 3-0 triumph at home to Tottenham Hotspur, when Mata turned in another impressive display and left the field to a standing ovation from the Old Trafford faithful. Fans around the world have now joined the match-going supporters in acknowledging Mata's contribution to the cause in March, crowning him as the unanimous victor in ManUtd.com's poll with 51 per cent of the votes. Marouane Fellaini (33 per cent) was the runner-up while Wayne Rooney (16 per cent) was also nominated after a month in which United won all three Barclays Premier League matches and took a commanding lead over Liverpool and the other teams in the race for a Champions League place. Coming soon... look out for an exclusive interview with Juan Mata as he reflects on winning the March award and looks ahead to April's action. www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Mar/juan-mata-named-manchester-united-player-of-the-month-for-march.aspx?newsid=FAFDC5C4-29D2-43A9-9E85-49320DFCC62A
