Is it just me or were some of the actors in the opening episode of GoT struggling to maintain their character's voices. Sansa and Daenerys in particular sounded different to me. Actually I found some of Emilia Clarke's acting quite poor.
Anyway, decent first episode, just setting everything in motion.

I didn't notice that. And to be honest, I've never been a fan of Emilia Clarke's acting - although that could be due to the fact that I don't like Daenerys.

I liked her but she annoys me now. I'm currently finding her story the least interesting aspect of the show.

Emilia Clarke is definitely a weak link as is Kit Harington. It doesn't help that their characters are the least interesting of the main characters, but it's their acting that really lets them down. If Daenerys and Cersei have scenes close together the difference in the quality of acting is striking. Same goes for Jon Snow and any number of male characters.

But the masses will have both have them as 2 of their favourite actors/characters in the show, for one simple reason....they're both pretty.
I read somewhere that George R.R Martin wanted Tamzin Merchant to play Daenerys originally (think she may have even been in that un-aired pilot episode). She would have been a better choice, was brilliant as Catherine Howard in The Tudors.
Lena Headey really is brilliant in the show. I think for a show with such a large cast they've done well in keeping the mediocre performances down to a small amount. Emilia Clarke is the weak link as you say, I can cope with Kit Harrington a bit more although I also see where you're coming from.
Other than those I have no issues with the cast..Sean Bean was brilliant as he normally is. As was Charles Dance. One of my favourites is Aidan Gillen, I don't know how Baelish is supposed to come across in the books but from a purely TV show point of view I think his character is brilliant and well acted.
