He'll probably need to retire soon but that time doesn't look to be now. Should be used sparingly, but is still very useful when called upon. One of the most underrated players in our recent history.

Would be such a shame if he's unavailable for the Chelsea game.

Carrick is vital in that new system.
I wonder if Blind could become as good as him with time in that role? I am really curious to see what our signings will be this summer, especially in CM. We're bound to bring in at least one player there imo.

He's certainly got the footballing intelligence to do a Carrick, and actually has the same calm composure Carrick has (yard in the head, etc), and he looks as though he's got the drive and he's enjoying the physical challenge of the BPL. I think he could well do it but it will take another 12 - 18 months.
The other CM should be a Keane type - energy, drive, presence. I also think VG will rotate the fuck out of Carrick / Blind - and - Herrera / Mr X (eg, Schneiderlin). That's why I don't think it'll be a "huge name" or someone constantly demanding game time (Pogba).
Be a very interesting Summer whatever, for sure.

Can someone update me on the condition of michael Carrick please? He walked out of the game against Shitty shit, is the injury worse, or was it a precautionary measure?

Carrick is a bundle of masterpiece, I only hope and pray that he feature against Chelsea! Yes Blind is shaping up, but needs time to adapt to the English way of playing, his connections often strays to the wrong foot, unlike Carrick, who always tames the opponents and locate his targets with ease and precision! We definitely needs him(Carrick)against Chelsea! GGMU!!!

Manchester United's Michael Carrick withdraws from the England squad to play Switzerland on Wednesday because of injury. BBC are reporting this.

With Shaw, Valencia and now potentially Carrick out for the long-term, it seems certain LVG is going to bring a couple of faces this January. I would do the following: De Gea/Romero/Johnstone
new RB/Darmian/Valencia - Smalling/Jones - New CB/Blind/Rojo - Rojo/Darmian/Shaw
Schneiderlin/Herrera - Schweinsteiger/Blind/Carrick
Mata/Lingard/Young - Herrera/Rooney/Fellaini/Pereira - Mane/Young/Depay
Martial/Rooney/Wilson

The one thing we aren't prepared, or equipped, for is the one thing that's happened

How long do ankles take?
Blow for him as he played well last week but we're well covered.

Depends on the damage, ankle ligaments aren't usually overnight if properly damaged. Could be anything up to 3 - 4 months, Spose we'll have to wait and see, still gonna leave us short for even a short spell

I expect we'll see Sean Goss getting on the bench soon then. I wouldn't mind if we brought Pearson back from his loan at Barnsley either. I don't think there's any point buying another cm, as Dave says we're pretty well covered there. Just need a younger player to provide cover.
