if only one, Dybala
ideally Dybala, Lacazette, Depay and Ings on a free
if we lose both RVP and Falcao (not to mention Chicharito) we will need to restock

Yeah I really like Ings, think he's an underrated striker and if he wasn't playing for Burnley I think he'd get a little more respect. Wouldn't be disappointed at all if we took a chance on him, at the end of the day if it didn't work out, we've got him on a free and I'm sure there would be plenty of takers for him. Put it one way, I'd sooner have him in our side than Falcao at the minute.

Just going to throw another name out there. Not ideal as he's had a few injury problems but Theo Walcott is a player I've always rated and actually wanted us to sign before he went to Arsenal. He's still only 25, has 1 year left on his contract and Wenger has admitted that it won't be easy to get him to sign a new deal as it was hard to convince him to sign his last one.

He also looked very unhappy when Wenger pulled him back on the bench. It was an awkward situation for him you can tell, felt sorry for the lad. I wouldn't mind taking a punt on him.

Yeah he's not been getting the games for them either. He'd definitely be a bit of a risk with his injury record but I think he'd be worth it. Definitely worth throwing around £15million at them and seeing what their reaction is....they may be tempted to cash in.

Watching Palermo vs Juve now.
Dybala really needs to leave Palermo. He'd be a top striker for any top side that needs one.

going to bump this
with Chicharito uncertain, Falcao gone and RVP seemingly gone. Surely we bring someone in as a main striker (unless we really get Rooney as the man, though for Rooney, he plays really well as a second striker feeding of a goal poacher like Chicharito)
If we could get Lewandowski somehow from Bayern, he would be the ideal fit, but thats highly unlikely (wish he came to united instead of bayern)

'Relatively' cheap and easy fix would be to take a punt on Lacazette, gives you traditional 9 / 10 roles with Rooney in preferred position. The rest is a mind-fuck of possibilities.

Chicha is as good as gone for me, RVP in the end will probably stay I'd have thought but I'm not fussed either way, he's been regressing and getting him off the wage bill wouldn't be a bad move that said I still think it was money well spent on him so some of the stick he's getting is a little unfair for me and he can still finish. Should we keep him, I'd play Rooney upfront for the majority, RVP and Wilson as other options would do me. If we are selling him then I'd go for a goal scoring wide attacker that can play across the front three so a Bale/Muller/Griezmann/Lacazette all of which probably unrealistic. If we are going for an out and out striker then I'd rather get someone young 22-25 like Icardi or Vietto than a Higuain/Bacca/Cavani the only older striker I'd take would be Lewandowski or Benzema. People seem to want Benteke, I'm not convinced, rather not have just a target man to lump it up to and could be another Caroll situation. No thanks. Lots of ifs and buts on the attacker front

Lots of ifs and buts on the attacker front If Juve are interested. i think he would rather start their than be playing a bit part role here. Also Wilson surely is good enough now to be the main backup. can't see why Lacazette is unrealistic? and Griezzman is someone who is sought after and presumably on the market (though overpriced, 45 mill for him, no thanks) i agree, would rather Icardi than either one of cavani, bacca or Higuain. I actually wouldn't go for Benzema either and wouldn't touch Benteke with a 10 foot pole. Seems like another Andy Carroll

Unrealistic in terms of that their clubs don't really want to sell.

Unrealistic in terms of that their clubs don't really want to sell. oh right, then yeah. but Lyon aren't in much of a position to refuse a good offer for Lacazette anyway.

If we are selling him (RVP) then I'd go for a goal scoring wide attacker that can play across the front three so a Bale/Muller/ Griezmann/Lacazette I agree. But I've removed Griezmann from your list because I don't think he is that type of player. Lacazette imo is gettable provided we offer the right money. People seem to want Benteke, I'm not convinced Trust a Belgian pair of eyes: forget about Benteke. Imo he could move a level higher, and join Spurs or Pool, but that's about it. He doesn't have much footballing intelligence and is pretty much a donkey to harass defenders in the box. That's a profile that can be useful for some game plan, but imo we should aim at better quality. The out-and-out striker I would go for is Benzema. Because he offers so much more than goals. He is more clever and tactically aware than most strikers potentially available, he is solid as well and has a great link up play. But if I am honest, getting Benzema means Rooney is dropped so I don't quite see the point. But my ideal signing, although totally unrealistic, would be Müller. No one out there is more suited to what we need right now.
