Shit getting serious concerning Ramos. Graham Hunter on SSN saying that we've defo made a bid of around £28mil and that Ramos has told Madrid he wants to join us and said to negotiate with us and us alone. How the tide has turned! I really hope this happens and he isn't just using us for a new deal, the way they're talking suggests there's no ulterior motive here though.

Apparently those Bastian quotes are from an old interview. Herrera could go more advanced but he isn't really someone who dictates the play and his passing range isn't brilliant, he's much better with quick short passes between the lines or to feet. I can't see him pinging balls 30 yards left and right. Mata may be better suited but I quite like him as false wide man on the right and I'm not sure LVG would play Mata and Herrera together in the middle. We may well go down a different road, we shall see. |

It's refreshing to hear a top player wants to leave Real Madrid and join us. People using his disciplinary record as a reason not to sign him. Absolute bullshit, that shows to me he's passionate and a fighter, which is something this side could do with. I also like players who will automatically be hated by every other club.
Simple fact is he's a quality football playing defender who has loads of experience at the highest level and has won everything going. If you don't want him here you'd have to be mental.

Not sure what the fuss is about his disciplinary record, he averages 2 red cards a season I think. Didn't get any last season in La Liga anyway I don't think either. He's a cunt and I don't like his play acting but that's no reason not to sign a quality player, football fans are hypocrites you know  Thing with Otamendi is he's probably going to cost around the same, so you may as well get the real deal in my view not to say that he's a bad player though far from it but Ramos is an experienced, title, World Cup and champions league winning defender. Hunters on talk sport in a bit to discuss further. |

I've not seen enough of Otamendi to make a good enough comparison. What I have seen tells me he'd be a great signing.
But I've seen Ramos play regularly for 10 years, so I can say with confidence I'll jizz in pants if we sign him. As you say he ticks every box. Even the age isn't an issue for me, he's got a good 5 years left in him at least. He seems super fit and from what I can remember has never had a serious injury problem so he could go on longer.

Both players want to leave their respective clubs, surely a straight swap is the most sensible outcome here, I know it doesn't happen often but this is one of those occasions it just makes perfect sense for both sides.

He's made more passes than any other Madrid player over the last two seasons by 700 passes, I think there you see the main reason he'd be a perfect fit for this side.
