LOL. LvG giving a hint of what total football is about. If we can manage this against prem opposition then the penny might indeed be dropping.

Very encouraging display albeit against poor opposition. As Ed says, if we can translate this sort of performance to the Premier League we'll be laughing.
Mcnair my MOTM, very impressed with him at right back, he's a good footballer above all else which is clearly the reason LVG is a bit of a fan of his, he likes his defenders to be good on the ball. Also enjoyed the little cameo from Wilson a good strike for his goal and he was involved quite a lot when he came on.
Our most enjoyable display for a few weeks.

The game was exactly what it should have been - United dominating in every aspect (apart from the first minute) and getting a comfortable result. Great display by Cambridge's keeper, easily their best player who saved them at least 3-4 goals.

You've changed your tune. I really think he has improved in the past few weeks. He's getting more involved when he plays or comes on as a sub...holding plays, making decoy runs ,etc... Initially, he didn't do much , that's why I didn't like him coming on. However, I did mention he has the potential to be a good player. We should loan him out in order for him to get more playing time.

We should loan him out in order for him to get more playing time. Can't agree with that. Think he's had enough appearances this season to show that Van Gaal rates him high and I don't think this will change soon. If he has a chance to make a first team appearance in 2 out of 3 games then I think it's worth keeping him around. He's had his ups and downs, but he's only a 19 year old kid, plenty of time for him to grow

Yeah no need to loan him out, he's clearly firmly in the manager's plans. He'll develop much better playing with the likes of Rooney and Di Maria week in week out than he would being loaned out to another club

I wouldn't loan him out either, he has a future here and will feature more and more. He has scored more often than not coming off the bench, a handy asset and only 19 will be happy with that and after all RVP, Falcao and co won't be around forever and by then he should be evolved. Could well be our version of Harry Kane, if not better.

I believe this was McNair's best game, and I wonder if he can keep that level of confidence in the BPL. Very promising performance from him. I thought we were boring as usual in the first 20min or so, but all of a sudden it clicked for whatever reason. We moved the ball faster, were more composed, stretched the pitch perfectly and Cambridge were never going to resist that as they tired rapidly, giving us total control. Even defensively, I like how Van Gaal is playing a packed midfield with high pressing intensity: we're never giving our opponents any breathing air, very much like what Barcelona used to do under Pep, and I really like it. That's the kind of display we must replicate week in week out. Sure, Cambridge are a league 2 side, but what made us better yesterday was down to us and us alone: everyone performed perfectly in his role and the movements on and off the ball were much better. If we can carry that rythm and fluidity onto our BPL fixtures, we will reach the top-4 with ease. But if we're to show the same form as in the past few weeks, then I can't see us reaching the top-4 because Arsenal, Pool and Spurs are all improving and coming stronger. It will be a very interesting end to the season anyway
