Tiger's back today and playing some dog shit golf in his opening 4, already +4. Surely just rustiness, hopefully he can try and get a few shots back over the next 14 and post something respectable. Want to see him and Rory going to head this year with them both playing great golf.
Rory playing as well this week in the Dubai Desert Classic, posted a bogey free -6, looks to be starting this season in really good form after his 2nd place in Abu Dhabi.

Yeah, Tiger's still only played one tournament in the past half a year or so... His swing is looking a little more like it did in the early 2000's though. That's a good sight. Hopefully he'll be back performing well soon.

Yeah he looked good in patches yesterday, especially with the driver, made an eagle and drove a par 4 in 1. It's his short game which looks terrible but that's all about feel, the more rounds he plays the more his short game will improve, as we all know he's got one of the best short games going.

Terrible from Tiger today, +11 and dead last in the tournament, only way he's going to sort it out for me is getting more tournament practice, if he stays away I fear he'll struggle to regain his form. Needs to enter the next tournament he can.

can't imagine them getting much worse after shooting his worst ever round as a pro. He'll get there...

Meanwhile Rory's tearing it up in Dubai, 4 shot lead and he's left a few shots out there as well, got a bit of money on him this week as he's won here before and has never finished outside the top 10 on other occasions, add in the fact he's much better now than he was then and he was a certainty for me....He better keep it up!

Not a vintage final day from Mcilroy in Dubai but it looks like he'll get the job done with minimum fuss, 2 starts this year and he'll have recorded a second place by 1 shot and a victory, looking pretty ominous for the season. Again the way he's driven the ball is just incredible to watch, someone with that distance but also the accuracy that he possesses is going to take some stopping in most tournaments...The way I see it if he drives the ball well, he'll finish top 3 every time he shows up and more often than not record a victory.

Another nice little weekend as I backed the winner of both the European event in Dubai with Rory and the U.S event at the Phoenix Open with Brooks Koepka. I remember speaking about Koepka on the old site as he has played the last 3 years in Europe, winning the Turkish Open last year, a major talent and hits the ball as straight and far as Rory when he's on his game, majorly bright future ahead.

Sky has been awarded exclusive rights to The Open from 2017 onwards, can't say I'm surprised as BBC's coverage can be painful to watch whereas Sky do most sport better than anyone else, still this means there is no golf available on free to air TV in the UK anymore, with the possible exception of the final 2 days of The Masters and I'm not even sure they have that anymore.

Stenson fluffs his lines and throws away a golden opportunity at the Arnold Palmer invitational. Pathetic. 3 putted 3 times from under 50ft, twice from around 20ft. He's another one of these players that does everything extremely well until it gets to the business end of a tournament then he just loses his nerve with the putter, very much like Lee Westwood.
Extra pissed off seems I had £10 on him at 12/1 to win the thing. Silly cunt.

One of the best sporting events of the year starts on Thursday...The Masters. Absolutely love this tournament, predominantly down to the exceptional course. My 5 picks are Dustin Johnson, Rory, Stenson, Reed and a little bit each/way on J.B Holmes.

Get in there Kjeldsen winning the Irish Open! 125/1 shot at the start of the week, wish I had more than £1 on him! Tried his hardest to throw it away in very tough conditions but is the deserved winner on the basis of the weeks play.
What an excellent tournament to watch on 1 of the best courses in the world, true test of golf.
