Not surprised, LVG's stubborn with the back 5, I'd say it will be Carrick at the black and Blind in midfield which given Sotons physicality could be an issue. Mata's been in good form at home and RVP has a great record against the Saints so Falcao would be the one to miss out for me, not quite done enough.
Di Maria is a huge boost though, missed his pace and unpredictability.

Yup.
United XI: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Shaw, Blind, Carrick, Rooney, Mata, Di Maria, van Persie.
United’s subs vs Southampton today: Valdes, Evans, McNair, Blackett, Fellaini, Herrera, Wilson. #mufclive
No Falcao at all, just be ill or injured.

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

ok i can live with that, attack looking good with a bit more fluidity
rooney pushed up with di maria taking the ball from midfield, something we have been missing hugely lately- pace and unpredictability

I'm guessing Van Gaal see's Herrera as one of his 'creatives' to which he can only have four. Interesting to see where Di Maria will play.

Sky have it with Blind LCB as well but Roo and Di Maria the other way round.

Anything is possible with Louis. Hoping for a good performance regardless of formation anyway, there's enough quality players there that if we get going we can put 4 past any side on our day.

I guess di Maria and Rooney will be switching places a lot, without him in CM we are looking a bit lightweight. Maybe Fellaini would do a trick but I guess he isn't "match fit" yet to start...
Anyway, hope to see some guts and fight shown out there, fluidity to follow.

De Gea
Smalling Jones Blind Shaw
Carrick
Valencia Di Maria

Rooney RVP Would love to see this Ha, too good to be true. Maybe only Jones on the right instead, Smalling is much better in the box.
