But while we're on the subject of managers, any regrets of us going for Van Gaal instead of Klopp?

No because he's got he experience Klopp hasn't got - but I do regret Klopp going to them as the chances of him coming here in the future are now minimal.

But while we're on the subject of managers, any regrets of us going for Van Gaal instead of Klopp? None for me LVG is the real deal and was the right man for United after Moyes. Yes he divides opinions but you can't deny his dedication to the club, the progress he's making with the team and his massive ego-driven will to succeed. The timing was anyway out for Klopp.................... the only but is we may have got Hummels ....................sigh It will definitely be interesting to see how Klopp does at Liverpool and also in Premier League football ...............not sure that this will be a clear cut success for him To be honest I would have seen him as an ideal replacement for Arsene Wenger. Is Merseyside is the right place to shine ?

But while we're on the subject of managers, any regrets of us going for Van Gaal instead of Klopp? in terms of a long term replacement, yeah just a bit, because LVG is gone in the next 2-3 years. Then what, Ryan Giggs (please no, i love him but that does not sound good at all, i rather Giggs forge his own path than thrown into the united job. Klopp, so long as he wasn't a David Moyes would have been about as good as LVG and would have been a long term manager also i like Klopp's personality more, LVG can be a bit of a stubborn old git at times

I think a lot of it is the "what could be" response, assume he'll do a Dortmund and you'll get a Liver bird phoenix from the ashes scenario. It's all unknown, he might take them down for all they know. He's got to go in and hit the ground running, no guarantees there.
I'm going L'pool to be relegated, Klopp gets sacked.

Lol, I just think he's more of an unknown quantity than people think. Plenty of top rated managers in their own countries fail elsewhere. He's impressive and I'd have him here if we were looking for a new manager but he's not a guarantee. I wouldn't swap LVG for him and I'd happily see Giggs be given a shot as his successor.

Good for Liverpool, taking a chance with him. Like Ed said, he might get sacked before we know it, but if he does a Dortmund then we're looking at an even more interesting PL. Now all we need is Simeone managing Tottenham

its the bundesliga though, more often then not it translates. it is a physical league unlike la liga. Could actually see this paying off (or until Bayern call him)
can see Simeone going to Chelsea in all honesty if Mou gets sacked

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

Who knows if it will work out for them or not but I am a bit gutted as I like this fella, he is a good laugh and always interesting to listen to so him being the lfc manager will be a weird one !

As far as I'm concerned Klopp has already made a huge mistake in saying he will definitely win the title in the next 4 years. Plenty of their managers in the past have promised the same thing. What happens when 3 years are up and they still look nowhere near winning the league? Panic stations.
