Hi all, life long Irish United fan from Dublin here, I'm a 50 year old bloke!
I try to get over to Old Trafford when I can. I've been a bit of a lurker looking at the posts in here previously but decided to join up.
I was a regular on a different United forum but unfortunately the atmosphere over there became a bit toxic between other members so I decided to move on!
I'll be a regular enough contributor, look forward to commenting on here as i'm now forum-less. Thanks guys.

Hi Bobbins, welcome aboard! Don't worry I'm familiar with RoM, most members / lapsed members here are / were members in a few different places. I'm afraid the in-fighting is inevitable given the shit show that has gone on post Fergie. It's not a happy camp anywhere atm. The life force, enthusiasm and momentum has been systematically drained out of the fan base, both those who go, those who went and fucked it off (me), those who just follow - and all the other shades in between. Gallows humour is the order of the day atm, I think. You're welcome anyway. |

You've figured it out well, yeah I was a regular on the ROM forum but you literally couldn't put any sort of point of view on there and you were getting slaughtered.
When I started on there it was fine but it's really deteriorated on there in recent weeks, a lot of in-fighting, extremely toxic place.
I was told that apparently I was a 'fuckwit' and I was also told to 'get fucked' amongst other nice things that they were saying to me on there. I just couldn't tolerate it over there.
I respect peoples opinions but when it got abusive personally over there I bailed out of there. I went over to have a look today and they're calling me every name under the sun.
Honestly mate, it was nearly a form of bullying.
I love posting about United, I'm a genuine fan. This is my new home now, again thanks for the welcome!

Forums can be goldfish bowls of our own making, sometimes taking a step away and doing something completely different is more advisable than sat their with a keyboard perpetuating negativity, getting stuck on a hamster wheel of meaningless spats.
Just remember, fuckers in Florida don't give a crap if you live or die, they just want your coin and the status quo. I strongly suggest that anyone looking in who's a fan of the club not poisoning themselves with something that is totally out of their control.
Sure, vent, protest (and more importantly, organise) do all that good stuff but the bottom line is the Buddhist quote is right: 'Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die'
I now refuse to let some parasite cunts in Florida adversely affect my day and how I am with those around me in real life.
