Yeah we need virtually a new spine so we definitely need to broaden things beyond Mount regardless of whether we get him or not

We'll have to allow the usual settling in stuff for a new player so he's not going to vastly improve us at all

And if we were interested I'd be worried if we were only speaking/courting him now

Most solid talk of any player coming to us before the season ended was Kane and I never sought him out for the long term TBH as there is nothing settled in behind him

For Kane to work he would need to be coming into an already solid team that pretty much the only thing missing would be him and obviously that's not the case here


Anyway I'd say Levy would run rings around us with Kane which is why I wouldnt be at all worried about over paying for Rice

Mount for his own situation is looking derelict by the day. A big fee/drawn out transfer only suits him and Chelsea.

There's no guarantee he works out no matter what we pay for him.

So assuming we have more plan b's than before this doesn't seem a bad thing if you ask me

What sort of project has been offered up to him at Chelsea??? We're starting from scratch too basically.

Chelsea should be doing better with the players they have there, Mount included so more questions than answers with him
