Never seen anything of him really, so don't know what calibre player we've got other than reading your opinions and what the journo' say.
The one part that niggles at me is that small detail about the African Cup.

Very happy to swallow my words about the midfield in the end. Great showing from the team and from the off we looked to have control of the game and am delighted to be able to say we showed huge desire to get the win throughout.
I really hope Herrera isn't too seriously injured because for me, even though he wasn't his best tonight, with him in the team we always seem to have fluidity in moving the ball around in the attacking third. He's always there to drop a simple one touch pass into threatening areas or to players in attacking positions. If it was down to me he'd be in the team most weeks.
Anyway, great result and bring on Wembley and hopefully a cup final!

Agree with everyone else. If we turn up with desire, and an 11 with no weak links (I'm talking Fellaini), then we should get a good win here. Slightly worried about the Lukaku threat, but not much else. I'm going with a 3-1 win.

Just had a thought: though David signed a new contract, does anyone think he and his agent asked for the £30m release clause to be added in, in case Real did come knocking again this Summer? (Which according to Guillem they very much intend to)

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35900814Didn't watch the game but maybe something we could look at in the future. I know he played there a lot in the academy and sometimes featured there in U21's. I've thought in the past when you watch him he has a good level of football ability, not just your average get your body in the way central defender. This is something I've thought of a lot when he has played for the first team. I kinda feel like because of his football ability and being confident with the ball as well as possessing a bit of steel, this could be a solid option if ever we need to rotate or just add some protection in the midfield in future. He'd definitely be more effectual than Jones ever was there imo

That has three defensive subs from a losing position all over it

I'm very split in my decision as to whether we can do it. As much as I believe we can out score them on the night, I just don't think we will prevent them from scoring at all. I can see them playing a defensive game, with a lot of pressure and look to break on the counter and get us.

Call me pessimistic but I'm not confident of a United win here, as we all know it's a massive jump from the teams we played previously and Arsenal are still very much playing for the title, which I think will spur them on.
I'm hoping immensely that I'm going to eat my words and everyone can point and laugh at me, but the best I think we will get here is a draw.

Still got the chance of Arsenal getting knocked out in the replay too. I haven't been on the wagon that we could go all the way in this one, but I'm starting to believe more now.

With the the top four nearly certain to take points off each other I think the team will go into this one with intent to capitalise on that. I am backing us to convincingly win 2-0.
Unchanged team again I think but I would like to see Schneiderlin in for Fellaini.
