And Arsenal apparently led by our example - wait for them to score and only then start moving

On a side note to the people complaining about it: Van Gaal was on the sideline yesterday, giving instructions to the team. Please explain to me what difference did it make.

Which also brings me round to the point that we have not improved under him since last season. Can't argue with that, like you said in the other thread the "make it to top 4" was for last season, we were supposed to be fighting for the title this one. And I might be harsh but it seems like we're playing worse than we did last season. The 352 and 4141 were a lot more fluid last season, the thing that bugged the shit out of me yesterday was apart from all our passing efforts, the players barely moved from their positions, which makes the next moves just way too predictable

Let's just get this started now, because there's no point in going over and over what we could have/should have done against Newcastle. This is the game I think everyone is looking forward to, no matter the position and form of the teams. Not knowing who's injured and who's not at the moment, but I'll have to assume Bastian and Jones won't be fit for that one. One thing that definitely needs to change is Fellaini, otherwise I'd keep Lingard and Martial on the flanks with Rooney forward and hopefully he can replicate his great form from the last game.

It's been the question every game now - is he the right man for United? And I've been going back and forward with this, if he's not the right man - then who is? And if he is - when should we expect a result + a nice performance, because it's already mid-January and we're sitting in 6th. This is starting to look more and more like the Moyes situation, even though we were much worse under Moyes. At least the players are really trying now, but it's still not good enough. Let's not forget that despite the dramatic game it is still Newcastle, who are currently fighting relegation. Don't know what to make of it anymore, the moment we look like there's some improvement we suffer another setback and whether it's the manager or the players - it wouldn't matter if we don't make top 4.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking more or less. Forget Van Gaal, for the time being we need to secure that Top 4 spot with or without him and even with the downfall of Chelsea it would still be a tough job.

For the record, I would like to point out that I enjoyed this game despite the final result. Think we showed a lot of passion and desire and given another 5 minuted we could have scored a 4th. Looking at that game tonight, Fellaini was atrocious but we knew that from the beginning, for the life of me I can't understand what's wrong with Carrick but I believe Van Gaal had a good reason not to play him. Rooney deserves a lot of praise today, lead his team and scored today - can't ask for more. Lingard and Martial have been the soul today, hope they're fit enough to play against Liverpool. Looking at the bigger picture - we shouldn't be anywhere near drawing with Newcaslte, we still looked really static... nobody is ignoring the obvious flaws, but not much we can do about it so I'd rather see more of what we saw today. If it can make Van Gaal stand up, it's good enough for me

Yeah if that's the 11 I'd rather have Carrick and give Schnederlin some more freedom, he could be quite dangerous going forward

It makes it really hard to sympathize to a guy who would have been in prison anyway, just for a lesser crime. masturbated on his cousin's car and set the cat on fire  But if you want to watch a shocking documentary I'd recommend Britain's Darkest Taboos - www.youtube.com/channel/UC1UY9QOoPK-gpZJcpfAm0Ww
