He would have been better off picking one or two players say Morata and Santon for example, talking about their development showing to us that it's something he cares about. Instead he's comfirmed he's got no interest, drafted up a bullshit number and list of players he's given debuts to and been called out on it.
It's a shame but it is what it is, we hired the man, hopefully he will adjust but I won't hold my breath.

Get the fuck over it. You's lot didn't kick up half as much of a fuss over LVG and Moyes coming in despite huge question marks over the pair of them. So why the constant negative tone when speaking about Mourinho? Who is a recent and proven winner.
Time for everyone to get over whatever reservations they have about him and let him get on with his job and judge him on results on the pitch. I guarantee if he wins the league this season without giving game time to any of the academy/u21 prospects, nobody will be questioning his record with youth.
I get the fuck over nothing. I voice my opinion if you like it or not. I am 100% behind him as a manger since the day he came despite my reservations. Tha doesn't mean I do have to like everything he does, just because he is our manager now. There are a lot of positives to say about Mou as well and in the end I wanted him to join because of the overall package. But that was not the topic, he just made a mistake by saying that number in the presser which was all I said.
I am not negative towards Mou overall but facts don't lie regarding that lis. Also I think you are completely wrong if you belive winning the title by ignoring youth at United will silence all critics, at least not mine. This is the United DNA and who supports United will want that to continue.
btw I criticised Moyes and LVG when it was due and it was a lot (and much harsher at times) and I never hided with my opinion and I will not change in that respect.
No manager is a 100% fit, even Fergie wasn't though comin close.
Mou's handling of the academy will be in the focus as long as he stays and proves doubters wrong, that's the way it is and it is better Mou faces it and proves people wrong by the way he does the job in the future iso of trying prove others wrong beforehand when he can't.

In fairness my comment was aimed at Dave.
I disagree with you saying critics won't be silenced in terms of youth by winning titles. I promise you, most people who are complaining about his youth record now won't care 1 jot come the end of the season if we're champions. I'd love him to give ample opportunities to youth prospects and the like and believe he will if they're good enough but I'm sensible enough to understand that right now what we need, first and foremost is to start getting results and get this club back challenging for titles, how we do this is not my concern.
To be honest LVG has done part of Jose's job for him, the likes of Rashford, Borthwick-Jackson and TFM have already been integrated into the first team and all Jose needs to do is aid their progression. There's actually not much room to bring too many more youth players through at the moment, as our first team squad is more than young enough. Besides Tuanzebe I don't envisage many more making the breakthrough as it is right now.
Also the talk of it being in our DNA has been lost for a few years now. Lets not kid ourselves into thinking youth was of prime concern for Fergie towards the end of his career. He refused to give more game time to Pogba and instead brought Scholes out of retirement to play in front of him. The game has moved on and makes it more difficult to give as much game time to young players as you'd like. They have to have something extra special. Rashford and TFM definitely fall into that category.
I'm still getting used to him as our manager so sorry if I've appeared to be negative just was a bit irritated, it goes without saying that I back him all the way. We fans are fickle in nature and once the football starts with the goals flying in I'll change my tune I'm sure.
I was just going to put that into Basti's thread. Overreacting a bit I'd say. As far as I know Mourinho has told which players he's going to use next season and even told the press that players not in his plans would not be given minutes in pre-season, which is the case with Schweinsteiger. Now, I don't think we should sell him, but I can understand where his decision is coming from, especially if we're bringing in Pogba. It's sad to see a world cup winner lose his place, but football is a cruel game and sentiments could cost you.
Well there was this article about Basti's brother reacting angrily that United have cut Basti off the first team, but I'm not quite sure how true this is and whether it was brought out by his brother being left out or that the club treated him in an unfair way. Like germanc said so far Mou has handled himself pretty well in the media so I have no problem with his decision, even though I think he could have stayed for a year or so more. A shame that Bayern don't want him back too.
Jose Mourinho: Managers critical of Paul Pogba deal are not at top clubs
Wenger had described the valuation as "completely crazy", while Klopp said he would not spend such an amount on a single player.
Mourinho continued: "When I heard some of the comments and I heard some of the managers criticising that, I don't think they will ever have this problem because to have this problem you need to be in one of the top clubs in the world. At Man United, it can happen."
